My journey into birth work began in 2011, when I assisted at the birth of my first Godchild. I kept showing up for the births of friends and family in the years that followed — all leading up to the birth of my own daughter in 2019.

After 36 hours of labor at a birthing center, I was transferred to the hospital, where I had to advocate for my own birth preferences to a team of strangers. Told my labor had stalled and induction was needed, I pushed back — and within an hour of arriving, I delivered my daughter on my own terms. That experience showed me how much mothers need someone in their corner, and it’s what pushed me to become a certified doula and start advocating for women, especially women of color, in their birth spaces.

Since then, I’ve built The Christian Doula Experience into an agency that holds space, prays, educates, counsels and shows up fully for every family we serve. In 2021, I expanded into postpartum care full-time, supporting new mothers through physical healing, rest, nutrition, lactation and the emotional weight of a new baby. As of 2023, our team has grown to include other carefully vetted doulas who share the same heart and values.
