My name is Chelsea and I am the owner & founder of The Christian Doula Experience LLC. I am a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula, Newborn care specialist, social worker, and mother of 2. I started my journey with assisting pregnancy and birth in 2011 when my first Godchild was born. I have attended and assisted births since then leading up to the birth of my first daughter in 2019.

After a 36-hour vigorous labor at a birthing center resulting in a transfer to the hospital, I had to advocate my needs to a team of strangers about my birth preferences which resulted in them instilling fear into me telling me my labor was stalled and needed induction. Within an hour of arriving at the hospital, my daughter was delivered according to my preferences as I pushed against the advice of the medical team who said I “wasn’t ready.” Following my natural instincts and bringing my baby earthside when she was ready, I knew I not only wanted to educate & support but also advocate for young women of color in their birth spaces to allow birth to progress the way it was designed to.

I have since become certified as a Doula, started working in the field, and began my own agency to bring a unique kind of support to all expectant mothers looking for a Doula who will hold space, pray, educate, counsel, and be present with them. In 2021 I officially expanded into post-partum work full-time as I identified with the challenges, hardships, and vulnerabilities of becoming a new parent. I quickly realized this realm was also purpose work. I work to promote physical healing, rest, proper nutrition, optimal lactation, sibling support, as well as emotional support as needed to new mothers and their families. As of 2023, I have opened up my agency to other Doulas who are carefully vetted and offer the same vision and value to The Christian Doula Experience.

We are now a team of Doulas who believe in continual learning, fellowship, community service, and building on our individual strengths to offer our full selves in your perinatal care. Our experiences give us greater insight to guide, aid, and assist you and your growing families in achieving the outcomes you most desire. We aim to gain/build upon your trust and work together to develop customized care plans that are both impactful and effective.
